Cloteo: meditation in a dolmen in Ourense and connection with the ancestral memory of Galicia

Dolmen (AI) Most are under tumulus/ burial mounds or destroyed

In the fall of 2025, I continued exploring the dolmens of Galicia as spaces for meditation and energetic connection. What began as an archaeological curiosity ended up becoming one of the most unexpected and profound spiritual journeys I've experienced "close to home."

This time, the trip took me to Toén, Ourense, to the A Medoña Dolmen.

And there I met Cloteo.

Meditating in a dolmen in Ourense

The moment I sat down inside the dolmen, I felt a very clear presence.

It wasn't a particularly deep meditation in the sense of losing consciousness or falling asleep. On the contrary: I was completely awake, present, connected and sitted.

The energy of the place was ancient, stable, and deeply linked to nature.

The man I sensed there explained that he had been considered the wise man of his community, although he didn't see himself that way. He was someone connected to the herbs, the trees, the natural cycles, and the earth.

The curious thing is that he said he never wanted to end up being brought there. He would have preferred to "merge with the roots of the trees."

Cloteo and the connection with the earth

Throughout the entire meditation, I felt an immensely loving and natural energy. He was happy to be able to communicate, as if he had been silent for a very long time.

He spoke to me constantly.

And, as had already happened on the other occasion with Rosalinda (which I mention in the previous post) or during meditations, this time in Galician dolmens and burial mounds, I ended up allowing him to join me/my energy field.

See the world through different eyes

Since he joined my energy field, I began to perceive everything from a completely different perspective.

The roads.

The houses.

The orchards.

Everything seemed new to him. He observed everything with a mixture of innocence, wonder, and tenderness.

But there was a particularly intense moment when we passed by modern farming machinery.

His reaction was immediate:

"Do they touch her with that?"

And I understood perfectly what he meant because he made me feel the torture instruments of the Spanish Inquisition against my body, as a parallel to what those machines do to the earth.

For him, the earth is a living being, a mother, a beloved being, like a very close friend. Something sacred. Something that should only be touched with hands and with love.

The sight of those machines turning over the soil filled him with genuine horror. And, through that connection, I felt it physically as well.

Celtic energy and sacred places in Galicia

Later, we headed towards the Monte Penide and Mámoa do Rei area in Redondela, one of the most impressive places with such powerful energy that I've visited in Galicia.

Even before arriving, still in the car with my eyes closed, I clearly felt that we were entering a sacred space.

I opened my eyes and said,

"We're here."

Although technically we were still on the road.

The energy of the place was already present; it was palpable even before we saw it, because this was the sacred forest surrounding the dolmens of the Celtic sacred land on that particular coast. The forest was considered part of the sacred land of the area.

Cloteo in unknown land

During the journey, Cloteo told me his name. Something like: Cloteo or Clotildeo.

He also pointed to a gas station attendant, saying:

“He’s a descendant of the people from here.”

When we arrived at the area of burial mounds by the coast, I noticed he started to get nervous.

He said that this was “another community,” that they could see him, and that scared him.

I tried to calm him down as we walked through the woods.

The energy was incredibly strong.

Cloteo's farewell

At one point during the journey, I realized I was veering off the path I intuitively wanted to take because he wanted to run in the opposite direction.

That's when I understood I had to set a boundary. I asked him to leave my energy field, and immediately, I felt him descend to the ground, staying close to me until he felt safe.

And then something beautiful happened.

Upon reaching the area of the burial mounds near Mámoa do Rei, I felt other presences joyfully welcoming him, making him feel at home. So he left my field to meet them joyously.

Galician mámoas: memory, vibration and spiritual connection

That area reminded me so much of Saqqara, in Egypt, because of the number of funerary structures scattered across the landscape. Like small pyramids covering the land. But here, in Galicia.

After that, I felt a strange emptiness. When Cloteo left, I had regained my usual energy… without all the exhilaration of everything being new. And at the same time, I was happy to have accompanied him to that place.

Meditating in dolmens: an unexpected path

I feel increasingly drawn to these ancient sites.

Not only because of their history, but also because of the energy they hold:

  • the power of the stones

  • the silence

  • the connection with nature

  • and the feeling of living memory

Exploring the dolmens and burial mounds of Galicia has become a form of meditation, listening, and inner discovery for me.

And the most curious thing is that this path was right here, next to my house..
