Meditation experiences in Lisbon parks

Some of the most revealing experiences on my journey came in seemingly ordinary places. During a time when I worked in an office in downtown Lisbon, I used many of my breaks to meditate in nearby parks.
In this post, I want to share two very different experiences that arose during those moments of silence. The first allowed me to understand the origin of a pattern that had been repeating itself in my life for years. The second showed me a completely new way of perceiving people's energy.
Although they seem like separate topics, both experiences are united by the same idea: meditation can reveal information that is already present within us, but which normally remains outside our conscious awareness.
A meditation on my mother's pregnancy and the origin of a repetitive pattern

During a lunch break in Praça da Alegria, after finishing my meal, I sat down to meditate as I usually did. A few minutes later, I found myself having a completely different experience.
I saw myself inside my mother's womb.
It wasn't a visual memory like the ones we usually imagine. It was a complete sensory experience. I felt the environment from within, suspended in the amniotic fluid, perceiving the atmosphere around me.
And at that moment, I understood something that profoundly marked my life.
During the end of her first trimester of pregnancy, my mother was going through a difficult time. My father was working long hours, studying when he was home, and their relationship was strained. She felt alone.
In meditation, I could sense the internal conflict she was experiencing.
On the one hand, she wanted to have me.
On the other, she didn't want to face motherhood under those circumstances.
It was then that a feeling arose that I immediately recognized: the urge to disappear.
To make myself small.
To withdraw.
To not go on.
However, above all else, something much stronger remained: my mother's love for me. And it was that love that sustained the pregnancy.
As I observed all of this, I understood something that had been repeating itself in my adult life for years.
Since university, I had noticed a very specific tendency: during certain months of the year, intense doubts would arise, along with desires to abandon projects, change course, break with what I had built, or start from scratch.
Sometimes it remained just thoughts.
Other times, it translated into significant changes in job, country, relationships, or lifestyle.
During that meditation, I understood that these periods coincided exactly with the moment in the pregnancy when that initial impulse to disappear arose.
Conversely, I also understood why other months of the year I felt full of strength, confidence, and vitality.
They corresponded to the last trimester of pregnancy, when there was already a total determination to continue and be born.
That experience allowed me to understand a pattern I had observed for years without knowing its origin.
And, above all, it showed me the extent to which emotions experienced before birth can continue to resonate long afterward.
The origin of the Durga Loto logotype

The second experience occurred in another of my favorite places during that time: Jardim do Torel, a small garden overlooking Lisbon.
After lunch, I sat on the grass, closed my eyes, and entered a meditative state.
Suddenly, a luminous, sky-blue flower with four petals appeared before me.
I observed it for a few moments until an inner voice instructed me:
"Open your eyes."
When I did, I could still see the flower.
It didn't disappear.
It remained between me and the people walking through the park, as if it were a transparent filter through which I could observe them.
Through this symbol, I could clearly see which energy centers were active in each person.
Some shone primarily in the upper part of their body.
Others showed more activity in the lower centers.
And in very specific cases, I could perceive a complete activation of the entire energy system or no activity at all.
It was as obvious as entering a room and seeing which lights are on and which are off.
It required no interpretation.
It was simply there.
Years later, I continued to observe the same thing on different occasions.
I especially remember a therapist specializing in quantum therapies whose energy field appeared intensely illuminated from her heart to her crown chakra, while the lower chakras remained much less active. Her connection to the subtle planes was extraordinary, but I also came to understand the importance of maintaining a balance between spiritual development and grounding in daily life.
That experience taught me something very simple:
We are not here to develop only one part of ourselves.
We are here to integrate them all.
The connection with Earth and with Heaven.
Matter and consciousness.
Action and contemplation.
Strength and sensitivity.
All are part of the same being.
What meditation showed me in Lisbon
These two experiences took place in different parks and dealt with seemingly different topics.
However, both taught me the same thing.
Meditation isn't just for relaxing.
It can also reveal patterns, memories, and aspects of our reality that were already present, even if we didn't yet see them clearly or understand them.
In one case, I understood the origin of a pattern that repeated itself every year in my life.
In the other, I received a tool that allowed me to observe people's energy in a completely new way.
Both experiences broadened my understanding of how consciousness works and the extent to which everything is connected.
Sometimes, simply sitting in silence for a few minutes is enough to discover something that has been waiting to be seen your whole life.
